2 Looks Using Maybelline EyeStudio in Purple Icon

I caved in- yup. My EyeStudio palettes are almost run out- I hit pan a long time ago. I truly love the two I have so why not try them in other colors, right? I got Purple Icon because the colors look so shiny just like my others ones- but this palette just isn't what I thought it would be. The very second color- disappointed me greatly.

It seems like such a pretty light lilac kind of color- but it just looks really powdery and gray on my lid and that's over primer! I could probably give it another try over NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk- I can't possibly give up... lol. But- I ended up covering it with Glamour Doll Eyes in Hollywood on my lid because I just did not like it at all. That's why there's two looks today.

The highlight, as you can see, if very frosty. I really don't mind it at all- I liked it actually.  The third color on the palette is my favorite, I used it all over from my crease to my highlight and under my eye. It's such a pretty purple!! Then I used the darkest in my crease alone for some depth. The next day, (below), I did the same look but without the glitter. Instead I used the highlight color on my lid too. Sorry for not curling my lashes... lol

All in all, I really liked the palette. I plan to keep playing with it. It makes my eyes look so smoky in person, which is something I don't do as often as I used to. Oh, btw, the darkest purple in the palette does not come off that shiny on my lid as it does in the palette. Somehow, this palette looks so shiny but only two out of four really are.

 Once blended in with the other colors there's not much of a difference, so if you like frosty this is a good palette for you! Till next time. =-)

Beachy Hues

I did this look the other day and took pics without first blending out my eyebrows for some reason. (Weird I know!) I guess I forgot. Either way- I used some shadows I hadn't touched in a long time. Over my lid I used NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk and over that CoverGirl Eye Enhancers in Gold Sizzle. In my crease I used Avon iMark eyeshadow in South Beach.

My highlight and inner corner color was iMark shadow in Cloud 9. I feel like I haven't done anything too special. I've been sticking to shadows that I want to use up and get rid of!! I have been refusing to buy anything new for a long time now but I know eventually I will cave in. I've been strong for a while now.. lol- too long!

Either way- this look reminded me of the beach. I haven't been there in so long. I used to go swimming so much and then one day there was a couple who was fishing and they caught a stingray!! Not to mention there was baby sharks in the water swimming around us. I swore never to get in again and I haven't- but I do miss it so much. Anyone been to the beach this year yet?

My Defective Clarisonic Mia 2 in Peony

Hey you guys! It's been a while since I update this blog!! I haven't really been online much to let you know- Facebook is just an everyday thing because it's on my phone- otherwise- it wouldn't be. After school ended I just hadn't gotten on my laptop in days. But- I passed all my classes with A's- a total accomplishment that was tough to achieve! =-) 

So- I got this because I totally felt like I deserved it- lol. I had been wanting one for so long and I cannot stress to you guys how many reviews I looked up before I plunged into this purchase. I got it at a 20% discount at skinstore.com and it's a pretty Limited Edition color in Peony. The Clarisonic promises a lot of things... 

Out of hundreds of people who reviewed this online- I could only find two or three here and there that would say it wasn't all that- but never something bad. I actually have been using the Oil of Olay cleansing brush for a year now and just had to try this. Once I got my Clarisonic- I got to use it 3 times... very disappointed after a few hours when I realized it wasn't charging. As you can see- it was connected and the light was off. The gel cleanser above came with it but I have not tried it either since I had decided to use my Oil of Olay cleanser until I run out. I have a lot to go on that bottle too. Since this Mia wouldn't charge- I only got to use it three times with the only charge it came with... =-(

Yup- I took pics either way, regardless I loved what it did to my face those three times. I just so happen to have gotten a defective unit and have been waiting for my replacement for over a week. I am supposed to get it tomorrow and have been so impatient about it. It was amazing!! Soooo much better than the Olay brush- it left my face so much cleaner and smoother. I plan to use this for a while once I get my replacement and do a review- maybe even a video. It really was pretty awesome though and I am so looking forward to using it again. 11 Facts about me!

1. Even though I grew up in a Mexican American family- there's tons of Mexican food everyone likes that I don't.

2. My mom started tweezing my eyebrows since I was in the 6th grade because they were so thick! Lol- I learned to do them myself and been doing it since. 

3. We always had a pet dog growing up. Cookie last us about 10-12 years and Sugar is still with my mom after 7 years now. 

4. I have been learning to bake this year- it's been fun but I have a lot to learn.

5. I haven't had virgin hair since over 14 years ago when I started dying it!

6. I tend to watch the same movie reruns if there's nothing else on tv. I refuse to watch reality tv most of the time... lol

7. I love biting my lower lip- its a bad habit and sometimes ends in a terribly ugly lip that needs extra care to recover... 

8. I like having my toe nails long enough to square them- but not too long. Square shaped toe nails look so pretty!! 

9. I see reviews on products on everyone's blogs a thousand times before buying stuff sometimes...I take your opinions seriously and youtube.com is always a plus!

10. I love the kind of face moisturizer that doesn't let your face dry up but dries up enough to not feel like I even wore it. 

11. I burn so easily in the sun it's not even funny. Five minutes is all I need to get tanned.... ok maybe a few more but its that bad!

1. What is your most prized possession?

I love my cosmetology license. Even though it's been a few years that I haven't worked in a salon- I remember it and will never lose my license. I still renew it every two years just in case I ever want to go back.

2. What is your favorite clothing brand?

I don't have one. I usually look at the clothes itself and not the brand. =-/

3. What is your favorite trend for Spring this year?

Flowery and light, but bright colors and dresses!

4. What is your favorite TV show?

Well, it used to be True Blood but I stopped watching it after the second season because I simply lost track.

5. Describe your self in one word.

Loving

6. What is your holy grail makeup item?

L'Oreal Infallible Advanced Never Fail Makeup. My face looks flawless with it no matter what!

This beautiful black dress with white dots- it's so pretty, yet classy. I wear it with a pearl necklace my brother gave me for my wedding. 

8. What was the last beauty or fashion item you bought?

Omg- I just ordered the Clarisonic Mia 2!! Can't wait to get it already... 

9. What is one main thing you want to accomplish with-in the year?

I want to learn everything I can before I have my baby so that I am a little better prepared for him. Being a first time mom everything is so new to me!!

Wing It Wine Creme Polish

This is actually an old polish my mom got me a long time ago and I had completely forgotten I had it! It absolutely love it!! It's the N.Y.C. Long Wearing Nail Enamel in Wing It Wine Creme (above). It looks gorgeous in the sun! It's a pinkish color with a gold shimmer to it- love!!

But- I'm all into my Sally Hanson Diamond Strength in Ring-A-Ding right now so I added two coats over and them and some Xtreme Wear in Invisible. I LOVED IT!!!

This is not much different than the last one I posted up- I realize that- but I had to share that polish color with you. Again, took the pics before I cleaned up around the edges so... lol! Till next time!

1. Who inspired you to start blogging?

I started blogging a few years ago actually. I think it was after finding aBrilliantBrunette's blog. I loved the idea of sharing so much- but I took the blog down after a few months then made this one.

2. What is your biggest accomplishment?

Going back to school. I had dropped out of college a few years ago and worked at a call center for 4 years straight- never again! I never felt more miserable in my life! I love school, and I love the fact that I have a future I'm working on.

3. Would you rather watch football or basketball?

I don't watch either. I'm not much of a sports fanatic but if my husband wants to watch it- I will. I can't choose =-/

4. Where is the craziest place you've done the nasty (not mandatory to answer is its too personal lol)?

Wow- this is a very personal question!! Skip... lol

5. E.L.F. brushes or MAC brushes?

I don't own any MAC brushes although I've dreamed of the day my collection has some. I have brushes of other brands but being a college student has me on a low budget so when I splurge...it's not on brushes. So, my answer is ELF. 

6. Which Celebrity is your beauty inspiration?

Gosh, this is a tough one because I don't have 1 favorite- but I do love Adele's simple classy looks. I like bright, glittery, and simple and classic. So there's also Katy Perry among others.

7. Name two things you want to do before you die.

Finish college, and be a good mom. Everything will come if it's my destiny. 

8. What would be the first thing you would buy if you won the lotto?

OMG! A newer car- nothing too fancy just more eco friendly. A house, I'd pay my college debt quick! And, I'd put up my own business and live off the profit and the interest of my money in the bank. =-)

9. How long have you been blogging for?

A few years. Not sure how long. 

10. Do you like the new blogger set up? yes or no?

It has taken me a while to get used to it and there's features I still don't like. =-/

Simple But Sparkly

I felt like wearing glitter- but wanted to make it wearable because I didn't want anything too dramatic.  I used the Glamour Doll Eyes glitter in Hollywood over LA Splash SplashProof  eyeshadow sealer on my lid. Over that I used a gold shadow (cannot remember which one sorry) in my crease. 

My regular favorite highlight from Mark. in Whisper and black liquid liner. Very easy look- I took a picture below in artificial light hoping you could see the glitter better but it was unsuccessful. If you've seen this glitter before- you know it's very sparkly and shines a ton of colors. The gold shadow really helped keep it from being too dramatic.

Peach, Pink, and Some Brown

Yesterday I got taken out to eat by my husband and father in law right before one of my finals. So, I thought I'd do something with my face! Lately it feels like I wear less and less makeup- and I don't like it!! Lol- but it's good too. I've given my face a big rest.

I used nothing but Detrivore Cosmetics for my eye shadows except for my highlight which was from one of my many Avon palettes. On my lid, over ELF primer, I've got Treason, then from the crease to the brow bone it's Sexualis, and in my crease you will find a little bit of Hack. I winged my liner a bit more this time.

It makes my eyes look a little more cat like and I love that. Hope everyone is doing good. Those of you taking finals- pass!! The whole semester's worth of work boils down to this moment! Till next time!
