Meet Baby Junior! =-)

Sorry I haven't been online much lately- I usually get on Facebook or Twitter a little more because I have the apps on my phone but I haven't actually gotten online since I had my baby. I haven't worn makeup or gotten more than 3-4 hours of sleep a night either! So the only thing I can share are a few pics of the new man in my life- my son Junior!! =-D

I made a quick gif with a few pics- if you follow me on Facebook chances are you have already seen these and others. Hopefully once my baby starts getting more zzz's at night things will get a bit easier so that I can start up my makeup and blogging soon. Hopefully everyone has had a great month so far!! =-) Till next time!

Galaxy Nails Pt. 1

My cousin Michelle and I got together to do our nails a couple of weeks ago and she wanted galaxy nails. At first I didn't think I could- but after watching some youtube- I was willing to try and so happy I did. With a sponge tip and some dotting tools- we achieve this awesome nail look!

Colors used in the actually galaxy part with a sponge: coral, white, yellow, blue glitter, and Hidden Treason from Sally Hanson. All of this over a black base and white for the stars with a dotting tool. A thick clear coat and it was done. I cannot describe how shiny and sparkly this galaxies look like in the sun. They were gorgeous. I like them so much she did the same look on my nails- which is the next blog post that will be up soon. Hoped you liked the look- we loved it!! Till next time!!

Panda Nails!!

My best bud Sarahi came over and I did her nails- Pandas!! They were so cute!! We took the pics without cleaning up the edges unfortunately- but they were so worth taking pictures of regardless. I used a neon green from Claire's as the base- two coats to be exact.

Then, with White Out from Sally Hanson Xtreme Wear I drew on the panda's face and filled it in. With my dotting tools I dotted on black ears, eyes, and a nose. With a tiny dotting tool I gave the pandas some pupils.  One nail got a little messed up- (above) poor panda!!

She loved them and so did I! Hope you did too. =-) Till next time!

Dramatic Purple, Red, & Black!

Hey everyone! As you might have seen- the last blog post was a look I did on my cousin and this is the other eye I did on her. I decided to do something dark and dramatic- something kind of gothy because I haven't done anything like this in such a long time. I used my 120 palette for all the colors except the glitter.

First off, I applied ELF Eyelid Primer over her entire eye and then NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk to get a good base. Then, I mixed two of the purples and applied them over her entire lid.  I also mixed two different reds to achieve the color that I used from her crease up. I went in very low into her inner corner with this red mix and blended it out to her outer brow as well. Then with another brush I filled in her crease with a black to add definition and a darker hue to the look.

With LA Splash Proof Sealer on her lid over the purple, I applied Bachelorette Eye Lights from Glamour Doll Eyes all over the lid. It is such a gorgeous glitter!!A super thin liquid liner that was winged and pointy in the inner corner, mascara, and some red and black on the lower lash line. I seriously loved this look! Plus- it's always fun playing makeup with my cousin- she's freakin awesome! Till next time!

Bright Greens W/A Touch of Bright Hues

My cousin Michelle came over yesterday and we played makeup! I haven't really done my own all week except for today but I've posted nothing but neutral looks so I didn't even bother taking pics lol. I decided to do something colorful on her since it was just for play- and I loved it! I did the eyebrows a bit dramatic- but I kind of was going for drama so it went well in my opinion.

How I achieved this- I used the 120 palette over ELF Eye Primer and NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk. I then went for a golden white color in her inner tear duct. Used 3 different yellows in her inner eye, used two different light greens in her middle eye, and used a dark matte green in her outer 'v'. Under neath I used a bright blue, a bright purple, and a neonish pink. Black eyeliner and mascara.

The other eye was a different look and therefore I left it for another blog post.  It's a very awesome dramatic look. So- watch out for it!! Till next time!! =-)

FOTD- Neutral

I did nothing special but love these neutrals so much I thought I should share. I know I haven't done anything bold or bright in a long time- but this pregnancy has really changed my makeup looks somehow.  These are a whole bunch of neutrals from different palettes- I just mixed and matched till it was glowy, shiny, but neutral with a kick of pink in my tear duct area.

I used Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Liner in Pure White in my water line. Also, I've been trying something a bit different with my eyebrows. Believe it or not- they have been terrible lately. I over plucked and over trimmed =-( It was a total mistake because I was in such a hurry when I did it. I really regret not taking my time.

Regardless, I usually just pencil them in but lately I've been using a matte brown shadow in my arch to darken them up and I am starting to like it. Since I have been letting my hair grow out and just using henna once every few months- my hair is much darker and this look seems to fit better. On my lips- L'Oreal Colour Riche Balm in Tender Mauve. Review coming soon!! Till next time!

Elf Eyelid Primer in Pearl

I picked this up recently because I thought it'd be nice to try a lighter, brighter primer and why not if I like the ELF Eyelid Primer already? It's just a different color, right? WRONG!! This primer went on very translucent so I liked it at first.  Then I realized it had a lot of sparkles it leaves behind- I guess that's not bad if you are going for a shimmery look, right? My eyeshadow creased on me. This was not a good base that it even stuck to. I didn't know if it was just me, so I tried it again with different shadows, colors, and nothing. I don't mind so much because it was only $1- but it's disappointing since their other primer works just fine. Weird...but either way- thought I'd give my 2-cents on this product. I do not like and do not recommend! Till next time!

A Deeper Purple

I hadn't used the deeper colors on the Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips in Fashionista yet so I wore a look with the darkest colors on the palette. They are still very bright and I only used the last two to the very left of the palette without using the black color. I thought it was dark enough for me just like that.

I used the light pink in my inner corner either way because I adore that color so far. I had NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk in my water line and on my lips I have Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Make Me Pink.I hadn't changed my shirt yet so obviously it doesn't match at all- but I wanted to show the lipstick with the eyecolor. I thought it went perfect. lol- Till next time!

Cute, Colorful Dotted Nails!!

My best bud came over and we made a day out of playing with my new nail art brushes and dotting tools. It was too fun!! We got on youtube and decided to recreate some nail art looks with what we had. The above penguins are the ones I did on my friends nails. They were too cute and she loved them so much! (http://youtu.be/di2XYlRqkow)

To the right (and please excuse the nail edges that were not cleaned up) was a look we saw on youtube where it looked like paint was dripping and it was like a psychedelic type of look and we tried and loved it! On her middle finger we tried doing music notes. (http://youtu.be/Fhg8U1vRQ0A)

These nails to the left are mine. I saw this one tutorial where a girl did watermelon nails so I tried that one two of mine- loved!! (http://youtu.be/XMY8hpcxG6I) And the others ones do not look like the tutorial I saw- it's similar though. I liked my version even though it wasn't half as pretty. (http://youtu.be/MGRjlMjeTdw)

The dotting tools turned out to be a lot more fun than I thought they'd be. You really just need a little bit of inspiration of some awesome youtuber's video to try out. I just went through my youtube history and posted all the links so you guys can check out these awesome vids!!  =-) Till next time!!

Green & Purple Eye Look

This is using the Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Palette in Fashionista. I've already used it before and you will definitely see more looks using it- I'm in love! Sorry about the sunken eyes- I've been feeling very tired, low-energy, terrible actually at times but I guess it's just because I'm further along in my pregnancy. Who knows!

I used the green in the very middle of the palette and the dark purple right next to it. I also used the brightest pinkish-purple on the palette to blend the purple into the highlight. And another of the bright purples under my eye. It was really pretty- but the green looks a bit more on the yellow side which is fine with me. I packed it on over NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk btw.

Got some more looks coming up- hopefully I am able to feel a bit better so that my eyes don't look so sad lol. Till next time! =-)

E.L.F. Pretty n' Pink Brightening Eye Color

I was at my local grocery store and decided to pick this up because the colors looked really cute and it was- $1! This is the first time I use E.L.F. eye shadows but I expected them to be good because way too many people say good things about them. I used all four colors on the palette and honestly I liked the look. It's very light- very, very light in the pictures but I promise in person it's not THIS light.

I used them over the E.L.F. Eyelid Primer and that's it. I really had to pack them on though because otherwise I feel like there was no color at all. Believe me- it's seriously packed on in these pics. I found that a bit annoying but I still liked the finished look no matter what. These shadows are super powdery and so I think maybe next time I will use NYX Jumbo Pencil under to give them an extra boost. I think they are very good for what they cost and might even try out some of the other colors available. Till next time!

Physicians Formula Shimmer Stripes in Nude

Yup- here it is!! The little palette I've been so incredibly hooked on and have not shared enough pics of. I have been using this palette all week experimenting with all the colors so I could give an honest review. I seriously like it. The colors are great for everyday wear and you can totally pull off natural looks or smoky looks with it.

I found, however, that I cannot wear this without a primer or some kind of base because the colors are very shimmery and not incredibly pigmented. They are the kind of shadows you have to build up. Now, I do not have a problem with that being that if you want something very light and natural- it gives you the opportunity to achieve it. After all, it's a "Nude" palette and as the name says it, you can achieve that look with it. But they are colors that can be built up.

The box says you can wear them wet to enhance them and it's definitely helped unless I use a good base then I feel like I really don't have too. But when used wet, they glow. It's neat in my opinion.  Lasting power- with a good base- hours! But I can't tell you what they would last without it. I actually had my first bad experience in years with a very creamy base I decided to use under them which creased my shadow right before I left the house. I was so upset!! Worse, I didn't have time to go back and do something about it.

But of course, that was the base I used. Big mistake! Because I had a huge strip of shiny shadow in my crease instead of my lid. Lol- oh well. Either way, I like them and I am happy with the fact that the darker colors are the smaller strips too. The darker colors happen to be more pigment and therefore I find I have to use a lot less of them to get the results I want.

It's the lighter colors I like to pack on for the 'glowy' effect I like. The case is super cute and even though I haven't used any of the colors as a liner- I'm sure you could work with them- I just don't use my shadows like that often at all. The swatches are not the best- but I decided to swatch them over my clean arm. If you've seen my previous looks using them- those are over primer and a base. Till next time!!

Fashionista Palette in Full Bloom!

I have been so in love with my Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips palette in Nude that my husband bought me the Fashionista palette too! It was an awesome gift in my opinion!! This is the first look I do with the palette and all I can say is WOW! =-)

I used the last three colors on the palette (which are the lightest ones if you are looking at the palette sideways) over NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk and that was over ELF Eyelid Primer. On my face I've got Maybelline's Super Stay 24 HR Makeup in Nude and for my lips I've got on Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Make Me Pink. I also used a bit of blush (which I almost never do) which was Mark. Good Glowing Mosaic Blush in Love Rush.

Now I feel like I owe you guys a review on both the palettes!! I've got the Nude palette review started but I have not done swatches and I feel like I should for both. Maybe tomorrow I will get on it... lol- Till next time!!

A Quick Pregnancy Update

So, this is definitely not makeup- but I wanted to share since I haven't in a long time and it's something so big for me. On Monday I had my 33 week sonogram to see how my baby is doing- he's huge! He was 33 1/2 weeks and was measuring at 34 1/2 weeks which means this little man is a big guy! That honestly made me excited and nervous lol! Well, thing is my baby is facing down in the pic because he's breech. He's been breech since the last sonogram I had at 27 weeks. Heaven knows if he will be turning soon but One thing I am sure of- I will probably not be posting much next month since he's almost here. Today I turned 34 weeks and if he doesn't turn I have been told that I will be scheduled to have him 2 weeks early. I don't mind one bit as long as he is ok. I'm scared, nervous, excited, and anxious all at once not only about having him but about being a mom too. This is my first baby. I always wanted one and feel completely blessed about being given the opportunity to be someone's mom. Today after washing my hands in the restroom I looked up at myself and saw my belly bigger than ever. I put my hands on it and told him- "It's been a journey- a struggle and lots of tears-the last few months have been a life changing experience on its own. But now, I just can't imagine my life without you. I'm waiting for you with arms wide open." Yes, there goes a tear. Lol- I am hormonal and excessively sensitive lately so those come with no problem these days. Anyways, enough about me ranting off. I hope to be able to share more soon. Till next time! =-)

More Neutrals...

Yup- another look using my Physicians Formula Shimmer Stripes Palette in Nude. I used some of the darker colors and yet even though in person this looked different, I feel like the pictures look the same. =-/ I used four colors this time and all different except for the highlight- which I used the lightest color.

The eyeliner is Wet 'N Wild Mega Liner in Black Sparkle, Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara in Extreme Black, L'Oreal Infallible Makeup in Natural Buff, and the lipstick was a mixture of Wet 'N Wild Mega Last in Think Pink and L'Oreal Colour Riche in Berry Royale.

I included full face pics to show the full look simply because you can tell the shades are darker this way than closer up. I was about to cook breakfast and had an apron on- lol. Hope you liked the look- till next time!

Nude!

After seeing this little palette pop up every once in a while, I went and bought it. I decided I don't have that many neutrals and honestly- I'm super into them right now. I have a feeling I'm going t be doing neutrals for a while to come... This palette is the Physicians Formula Shimmer Stripes Palette in Nude. (Review coming up) It's got some gorgeous colors and they are perfect for everyday wear. Not to mention I am wearing the Rimmel Mascara that I had just reviewed and also I had seen aBrilliantBrunette's blog a while back where she featured some new Wet 'N Wild liners- so the eyeliner I have on in the pics is in the color Black Sparkle. That's right- it has silver glitter in it! Not an overkill- just a slight shimmer which I thought was cool. I LOVE this look. Till next time!!

My New Dotting Tools =-)

I was so excited when I got on ebay and saw that my dotting tools were in the mail! Lol- doesn't it feel awesome to finally get something you've been waiting on? I was dying to try these out because I've seen some really neat ideas on youtube and today I didn't do anything special because I was so excited to just do SOMETHING lol!

These were super cheap and work pretty awesome. I paid $1.86 and the shipping was FREE! Of course, shipments from Hong Kong take about 2 weeks- but I didn't mind for what I paid. Below is was just an experiment to try them out- but I've got some pretty neat ideas for next weekend's polish change. (I didn't clean the edges before the took the pic below). This is the link to order them- but of course, look around first. There's other colors if you're interested in buying! http://www.ebay.com/itm/290716444394

The next shipment I'm waiting for is a nail art brush set. School is almost up and I plan to play with my nails the rest of the summer. My baby is due August 10th so I might start posting belly pics as well as more nail and makeup pics. My baby's grown a lot! 33 weeks down, 7 to go! =-)

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara

I've had this before- but after feeling like I punished myself for continuously using the L'Oreal Voluminous False Lashes- I went to Walgreens in search of something better. I wasn't going to repurchase this because I wanted to try something new but it was special for half off! This brush and formula are way better than the L'Oreal one. It defines very nicely and the formula is smooth. One down side I hadn't noticed before though is that it flakes a bit. =-/ Yup. Not bad though, but after a few hours I had flakes (very little, not too many) but I seriously can't stand that. I don't ever look at my face when I'm out to be reapplying makeup. So, flakes aren't cool for me (or anyone for that matter.) But I still like it. I like the definition this brush gives a lot. Out of 10 stars I'd give this an 8. It loses one star for the the flakes I have after a few hours and the other star because my lashes won't stay curled for too long either. It's a very good mascara, but I've had better. And no, it never made my lashes grow more. Lol- I forgot to mention that. Till next time!
