Elf Eyelid Primer in Pearl

I picked this up recently because I thought it'd be nice to try a lighter, brighter primer and why not if I like the ELF Eyelid Primer already? It's just a different color, right? WRONG!! This primer went on very translucent so I liked it at first.  Then I realized it had a lot of sparkles it leaves behind- I guess that's not bad if you are going for a shimmery look, right? My eyeshadow creased on me. This was not a good base that it even stuck to. I didn't know if it was just me, so I tried it again with different shadows, colors, and nothing. I don't mind so much because it was only $1- but it's disappointing since their other primer works just fine. Weird...but either way- thought I'd give my 2-cents on this product. I do not like and do not recommend! Till next time!

Physicians Formula Shimmer Stripes in Nude

Yup- here it is!! The little palette I've been so incredibly hooked on and have not shared enough pics of. I have been using this palette all week experimenting with all the colors so I could give an honest review. I seriously like it. The colors are great for everyday wear and you can totally pull off natural looks or smoky looks with it.

I found, however, that I cannot wear this without a primer or some kind of base because the colors are very shimmery and not incredibly pigmented. They are the kind of shadows you have to build up. Now, I do not have a problem with that being that if you want something very light and natural- it gives you the opportunity to achieve it. After all, it's a "Nude" palette and as the name says it, you can achieve that look with it. But they are colors that can be built up.

The box says you can wear them wet to enhance them and it's definitely helped unless I use a good base then I feel like I really don't have too. But when used wet, they glow. It's neat in my opinion.  Lasting power- with a good base- hours! But I can't tell you what they would last without it. I actually had my first bad experience in years with a very creamy base I decided to use under them which creased my shadow right before I left the house. I was so upset!! Worse, I didn't have time to go back and do something about it.

But of course, that was the base I used. Big mistake! Because I had a huge strip of shiny shadow in my crease instead of my lid. Lol- oh well. Either way, I like them and I am happy with the fact that the darker colors are the smaller strips too. The darker colors happen to be more pigment and therefore I find I have to use a lot less of them to get the results I want.

It's the lighter colors I like to pack on for the 'glowy' effect I like. The case is super cute and even though I haven't used any of the colors as a liner- I'm sure you could work with them- I just don't use my shadows like that often at all. The swatches are not the best- but I decided to swatch them over my clean arm. If you've seen my previous looks using them- those are over primer and a base. Till next time!!

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara

I've had this before- but after feeling like I punished myself for continuously using the L'Oreal Voluminous False Lashes- I went to Walgreens in search of something better. I wasn't going to repurchase this because I wanted to try something new but it was special for half off! This brush and formula are way better than the L'Oreal one. It defines very nicely and the formula is smooth. One down side I hadn't noticed before though is that it flakes a bit. =-/ Yup. Not bad though, but after a few hours I had flakes (very little, not too many) but I seriously can't stand that. I don't ever look at my face when I'm out to be reapplying makeup. So, flakes aren't cool for me (or anyone for that matter.) But I still like it. I like the definition this brush gives a lot. Out of 10 stars I'd give this an 8. It loses one star for the the flakes I have after a few hours and the other star because my lashes won't stay curled for too long either. It's a very good mascara, but I've had better. And no, it never made my lashes grow more. Lol- I forgot to mention that. Till next time!

Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream

I haven't really been on Blogger for a while! I am super behind on checking out my favorite blogs that I actually feel guilty. =-/ Yup- but school has me super busy. I don't have any new looks, but I have two reviews I'm going to post up because I like these products. First, I started using this gel-creme about three weeks ago. I seriously love the 'refreshing' feeling you get when you apply it. It dries up and I don't feel it on my skin at all which I love. I can't stand creams that feel greasy or that feel like they just sit on my skin. But then again I have been using this after I cleanse up with my Clarisonic so it could be responsible for my skin soaking up the product better.

My face does not feel dry at all with this cream. I can't say there's been a huge change in my skin with it, it just feels really good and does what it says it will- moisturizes! A little bit goes a long way too. It's not the best face cream I've had but it's not a disappointment either. Out of 10 stars I'll give it a 7.5. Why not more? Because like I said- no dramatic change. It's just an ok cream. Nothing out of the ordinary. Hope this was helpful in some way or another. Till next time!

Makeup Look & Makeup Review

I bought an Avon powder recently- the Smooth Minerals powder to be exact- and I honestly hate it. It's got shimmer galore in it and made my face look funky. I don't know how to describe it- so I went old school and got the CoverGirl Clean pressed powder. Walmart was having this little combo for sale- $8.49!! For the foundation and the powder. So, I included a full face picture to show both on my face besides the eye look.

On my eyes I used different loose pigments and again, was in a hurry so I don't remember which ones they were...But it was a light pink, a bright purple, and a gold in my crease. Lol- how helpful!

This of course was over NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk on my lid alone to make the pink stand out. I find that using pink alone makes it barely noticeable. Below is my full face with the above foundation and powder on. It was a quick pic since I was already headed out. On my lips- L'Oreal Colour Juice in Cherry On Top.

My honest opinion on this foundation- not bad for the price, but not my favorite.  It's water based and I honestly loved the fact that it felt like I didn't have anything on, but it's not a matte finish. It's a bit shiny-not shimmery like the Avon powder, just shiny. Once you apply the powder though, it sets wonderfully and looks very natural. Lasting power- well, like 4 hours maybe. It rubs off very, very easily but if you keep the powder with you to freshen it up it's just fine. This is definitely a light coverage foundation. The powder is light to mediumish coverage. They both smell like Noxema big time! So, if you are not into that smell- do not buy!! I happen to like the smell for some reason so it's ok for me. I will be keeping this as my easy, light for school foundation. To go out I will be sticking to my favorite L'Oreal Infallible foundation that has never let me down and gives me the most awesome finish ever. Hope this was helpful. Till next time!!

L'Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Review

This mascara was something I had been wanting because the ad in my Glamour magazine with Gwen Stefani made it look awesome. I really like L'Oreal to be honest but had not purchased any of their mascaras in ages.  It comes in a pretty golden tube too!  If you see the pic above- the brush drawn in the back (kinda bluish) looks nothing like the brush itself!! So disappointed with that to begin with...

Second, I do like the fact that it's a very black mascara and gives my lashes volume just as it promises through it's name. One coat does a lot, but not enough if you're going for really dark or bold. Third comment on the mascara- I do NOT like the clumps. I noticed it the very first time I used it. Not only am I not too crazy about the brush, but it clumps my lashes!! I hate mascaras that do that- but will keep using it because I refuse to give up on it after a week's use. It was pricier than what I usually buy and that was a downer for me.

Below you will see the brush itself.  Not too bad, but not my favorite. It clumps my lashes and doesn't give me too much definition. At least not in my opinion. Yes, you will see looks with it for some time to come... I'm not too happy about that but I ditched my old mascara and until I find another good drug store one that I haven't tried yet- this is mascara.  Hope this was helpful- till next time!

If I had to rate it- I'd give it a 6.5/10. Yup. Not my favorite.

A Quick Cover Girl Lip Perfection in Delish Review

I've had this lipstick going on a week and a half now and have used it...daily?? Yes- daily!! I'm in love... It's smooth, while it's on my lips it is creamy without a shiny finish- which matte is always nice if it doesn't dry up. One reason why I hardly use my Revlon Matte Lipsticks is because they are so drying- not this one!!

The color is the nicest nudish- peach on me. Not really peach, not really nude- just an in between and it's done such a beautiful job at it!! Will post up a look showing it on the next blog post. I have not tried any of the other colors, but this one has made me so happy since I'm so into natural lip colors and soft pinks.

Will I be buying again- YES!! It's so worth it. I paid about $6 for it and it has been worth every dollar. Plus- I like the packaging. It's nice and you get a preview of the color on the bottom part of it which helps a little (and makes it look cute) when picking out colors. Lasting power is what I consider normal- about 3-4 hours depending on what you eat/drink. On me, it stays creamy most of the time I have it on. So- love!! Till next time. =-)

Detrivore Cosmetics Review

Ok so I promised a video...and that didn't happen. I'm honestly really sorry about that but my health in the last few days has been terrible!! Not to mention a busy schedule that just never allowed it. By the time I would get to wanting to, I either felt exhausted or the lighting was no good. SO here's my Detrivore Cosmetics review....

It was a quick video- mainly made to show the swatches. I have nothing bad to say about these shadows. Some shadows are more pigmented than others, but nothing that can't be fixed with a good base. Also, it you're going to light- some colors would work just fine and that's what I go for a lot of the time lately. It's quick and short- I actually might have up a few more videos this week. Let's hope so!

L"oreal HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Eggplant

I'm sadly watching Life As We Know It....again. I love these kind of movies, that make me get all emotional even though I think they are really not all that good lol. Anyways- on with the review!! I bought this the other day because I wanted to try it out after watching a youtube review on it. (Don't remember which one...)

It was a comparison on the Maybelline  gel liners and this. According to the review, this liner had much more pigmentation and also lasted a lot longer than the other one without creasing. I had been wanting to put my finger on a new gel or creme liner (just because) even though I don't need it... lol.

This bad boy comes with a brush- don't like it. It's too thick for me. I use the ELF Small Precision brush to apply this and it works wonders. The liner comes in a glass pot- I like it very much. The pigmentation is seriously great. This does not compare to the black gel liner that I have though. It's much creamier- much easier to apply. You just have to be a little more careful because since it's creamier, you could end up with tiny chunks on your lid.

It lasted all day- didn't budge. Now I did try it on my water line- I do not recommend this if that's what you need it for. In my water line it didn't last very long for some reason. See, because it's a cream- it won't budge after it's dried on your skin. In your water line- it doesn't get a chance to dry. That was a bit disappointing- but I still love it.

The post before this has me wearing it- so check it out. Till next time peeps- I got a very colorful look coming up- will probably post within the next two days. =-)

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters

I own two of these amazing Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters since last weekend. They are amazing! I'm sure you guys have heard plenty of reviews on these- and I am only agreeing with most of them. These are very cool. I love the colors I got and they are very conditioning just like a lip balm, but I feel they are more lipstick-y than lip balm-y because of the colors.

My favorite so far is the one above- Peach Parfait. It has shimmer that is not overpowering and has the perfect peach/salmon kind of color that looks awesome with my skin color. Lasting power, I'd say about 2-3 hours unless you eat or drink something. I have to reapply after anything my lips touch, but it's always a pleasure because they feel so buttery!

Sweet Tart I got because I saw it on XSparkage's blog and it looked beautiful on her. I thought I could make it work- and I did, but it's a pretty bright pink so I apply it and blotch it off once to tone down the brightness. I'm somewhat afraid of really bright lip colors when going out....

All in all, I decided to swatch them for you! Not the best swatches.... but it gives you an idea of what they look like. I'll definitely include in one of my next blog posts. Swatch on top is Peach Parfait, the bottom swatch is Sweet Tart and I swiped them twice. Till next time! =-)
