Dramatic Purple, Red, & Black!

Hey everyone! As you might have seen- the last blog post was a look I did on my cousin and this is the other eye I did on her. I decided to do something dark and dramatic- something kind of gothy because I haven't done anything like this in such a long time. I used my 120 palette for all the colors except the glitter.

First off, I applied ELF Eyelid Primer over her entire eye and then NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk to get a good base. Then, I mixed two of the purples and applied them over her entire lid.  I also mixed two different reds to achieve the color that I used from her crease up. I went in very low into her inner corner with this red mix and blended it out to her outer brow as well. Then with another brush I filled in her crease with a black to add definition and a darker hue to the look.

With LA Splash Proof Sealer on her lid over the purple, I applied Bachelorette Eye Lights from Glamour Doll Eyes all over the lid. It is such a gorgeous glitter!!A super thin liquid liner that was winged and pointy in the inner corner, mascara, and some red and black on the lower lash line. I seriously loved this look! Plus- it's always fun playing makeup with my cousin- she's freakin awesome! Till next time!

A Deeper Purple

I hadn't used the deeper colors on the Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips in Fashionista yet so I wore a look with the darkest colors on the palette. They are still very bright and I only used the last two to the very left of the palette without using the black color. I thought it was dark enough for me just like that.

I used the light pink in my inner corner either way because I adore that color so far. I had NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk in my water line and on my lips I have Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Make Me Pink.I hadn't changed my shirt yet so obviously it doesn't match at all- but I wanted to show the lipstick with the eyecolor. I thought it went perfect. lol- Till next time!

Green & Purple Eye Look

This is using the Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Palette in Fashionista. I've already used it before and you will definitely see more looks using it- I'm in love! Sorry about the sunken eyes- I've been feeling very tired, low-energy, terrible actually at times but I guess it's just because I'm further along in my pregnancy. Who knows!

I used the green in the very middle of the palette and the dark purple right next to it. I also used the brightest pinkish-purple on the palette to blend the purple into the highlight. And another of the bright purples under my eye. It was really pretty- but the green looks a bit more on the yellow side which is fine with me. I packed it on over NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk btw.

Got some more looks coming up- hopefully I am able to feel a bit better so that my eyes don't look so sad lol. Till next time! =-)

Fashionista Palette in Full Bloom!

I have been so in love with my Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips palette in Nude that my husband bought me the Fashionista palette too! It was an awesome gift in my opinion!! This is the first look I do with the palette and all I can say is WOW! =-)

I used the last three colors on the palette (which are the lightest ones if you are looking at the palette sideways) over NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk and that was over ELF Eyelid Primer. On my face I've got Maybelline's Super Stay 24 HR Makeup in Nude and for my lips I've got on Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Make Me Pink. I also used a bit of blush (which I almost never do) which was Mark. Good Glowing Mosaic Blush in Love Rush.

Now I feel like I owe you guys a review on both the palettes!! I've got the Nude palette review started but I have not done swatches and I feel like I should for both. Maybe tomorrow I will get on it... lol- Till next time!!

Makeup Look & Makeup Review

I bought an Avon powder recently- the Smooth Minerals powder to be exact- and I honestly hate it. It's got shimmer galore in it and made my face look funky. I don't know how to describe it- so I went old school and got the CoverGirl Clean pressed powder. Walmart was having this little combo for sale- $8.49!! For the foundation and the powder. So, I included a full face picture to show both on my face besides the eye look.

On my eyes I used different loose pigments and again, was in a hurry so I don't remember which ones they were...But it was a light pink, a bright purple, and a gold in my crease. Lol- how helpful!

This of course was over NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk on my lid alone to make the pink stand out. I find that using pink alone makes it barely noticeable. Below is my full face with the above foundation and powder on. It was a quick pic since I was already headed out. On my lips- L'Oreal Colour Juice in Cherry On Top.

My honest opinion on this foundation- not bad for the price, but not my favorite.  It's water based and I honestly loved the fact that it felt like I didn't have anything on, but it's not a matte finish. It's a bit shiny-not shimmery like the Avon powder, just shiny. Once you apply the powder though, it sets wonderfully and looks very natural. Lasting power- well, like 4 hours maybe. It rubs off very, very easily but if you keep the powder with you to freshen it up it's just fine. This is definitely a light coverage foundation. The powder is light to mediumish coverage. They both smell like Noxema big time! So, if you are not into that smell- do not buy!! I happen to like the smell for some reason so it's ok for me. I will be keeping this as my easy, light for school foundation. To go out I will be sticking to my favorite L'Oreal Infallible foundation that has never let me down and gives me the most awesome finish ever. Hope this was helpful. Till next time!!

2 Looks Using Maybelline EyeStudio in Purple Icon

I caved in- yup. My EyeStudio palettes are almost run out- I hit pan a long time ago. I truly love the two I have so why not try them in other colors, right? I got Purple Icon because the colors look so shiny just like my others ones- but this palette just isn't what I thought it would be. The very second color- disappointed me greatly.

It seems like such a pretty light lilac kind of color- but it just looks really powdery and gray on my lid and that's over primer! I could probably give it another try over NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk- I can't possibly give up... lol. But- I ended up covering it with Glamour Doll Eyes in Hollywood on my lid because I just did not like it at all. That's why there's two looks today.

The highlight, as you can see, if very frosty. I really don't mind it at all- I liked it actually.  The third color on the palette is my favorite, I used it all over from my crease to my highlight and under my eye. It's such a pretty purple!! Then I used the darkest in my crease alone for some depth. The next day, (below), I did the same look but without the glitter. Instead I used the highlight color on my lid too. Sorry for not curling my lashes... lol

All in all, I really liked the palette. I plan to keep playing with it. It makes my eyes look so smoky in person, which is something I don't do as often as I used to. Oh, btw, the darkest purple in the palette does not come off that shiny on my lid as it does in the palette. Somehow, this palette looks so shiny but only two out of four really are.

Once blended in with the other colors there's not much of a difference, so if you like frosty this is a good palette for you! Till next time. =-)

Feelin' Light

This week has been so stressful!! I cannot begin to explain how tired I am and how I have been so busy at school. The last three weeks  is when there is more pressure than ever! So I have neglected my face somewhat...

This was a very light makeup look I did today because I felt I hadn't done anything since Easter. I used ELF Primer all over lid, then Glamour Doll Eyes in Electric Lemonade from my crease to my brow bone. I also used Glamour Doll Eyes in Glam Girl in my crease and a tiny bit on my lower outer corner. Just to give the look some depth. Wet 'N Wild Mega Liner in Brown (I want new colors someday when I have time to go shopping again...) and L'Oreal Voluminous False Lashes mascara.

Super easy, super simple, and what I call a feelin' light look. =-) Hope you guys are doing great!! Till next time!

Dagon & Omen Ft. Detrivore Cosmetics

Today I decided to match a purple shirt I was wearing. I used the Elf Eyelid Primer for the first time (I finally ran out of the Elf Mineral Primer) and over it I used NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk (also in my water line). The primer, btw, did good. I'm not disappointed so far.

I used the lightest color in the Green With Envy palette from Maybelline Studio shadows for the inner corner and highlight. After that I used Dagon from Detrivore all over the middle part of my lid up. Then I threw in some Omen from Detrivore on my outer "v" and a bit over Dagon in my crease.

I used all three colors under my eye with a slanted brush. Black liquid liner and mascara and I was done! I loved it! I got compliments from an employee at Best Buy lol- I got all excited. These colors are pretty bright over a white base as you can see. LOVE!! Till next time! =-)

Shimmery Blue W/A Cut Crease

This was done on the same night I did the other cut crease look on my blog. It was late!! I hadn't messed too much with blue shadows and so this was a perfect time to play makeup. I think more purple underneath would have looked better too. Or maybe a brighter purple?

I used NYX Jumbo Pencil all over and my Manly 120 palette for all the colors. I used the shimmery white on my lid, a very shimmery blue to cut the crease and fill it in, then a shimmery black color to define the crease some more.

This was fun. I hadn't done any looks with my crease cut higher in a long time and I loved the eyeshadow placement. I plan to keep trying this with other colors until I've perfected it. =-) Till next time!

Simple Purple W/Taupe & A Quick Update

I am getting married tomorrow- I wasn't going to say anything but I'm really happy about it and was kind of dying to shout it out! =-) It's not going to be a big wedding, we decided to keep it simple with only our families and very close friends around. We've been together 9 years and have been engaged for the longest time. So tomorrow we are tying the knot!!

I have been super busy and haven't even being doing my makeup daily.. which sucks! But this is a look I came up with that I liked as my wedding makeup- except for maybe the liner. I'm not sure still how I'm doing this tomorrow- but I'm thinking it's going to be something like this. I used the Avon 12-in-1 palette to create it and from there used the purplish color with the taupe that's right in the middle. I loved it!!

So- I might be MIA for a few days, still not sure how busy I will be but there's tons of stuff I've got planned for this blog when I return. There will be a new makeup review on a new company I discovered with swatches, a henna for hair update video, and much more! I hope to start on everything soon so- till next time!! =-)

HOT Pink!!

I took the pics long after I did the look so the blue under is a little faded.... sorry! But- I was very excited about this. I wore this out- in day light.... yup. I don't have a night life- plus I'm prego so that's out of the question. I wear my bright looks during the day, unless they are too extreme for Walmart. lol!

I used the Manly 120 palette for this look. The hot pink is my favorite color on the whole palette and probably the only reason I really wanted it. It has a very sheer, chalky consistency though. So, I load up on primers first. I used the ELF primer and then the NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk for better adhesion. It looks wonders- because the color turns out being brighter. I used a purple over and a tiny bit of black in my crease for some added definition to this neon looking craze. The blue- well, that is inspired by Abrilliantbrunette. She always loves using blue under her eyes for bright looks and it works!

The pink and purple look-well, they are my favorite colors for eye shadows, unfortunately I tend to stick to them too often. Plus- there's a ton of cool makeup artists out there using them for Valentine's looks. I would not wear this for Valentines. I feel that I usually go for soft looks on that day. Maybe this year will be different. Who knows? Hope you liked the look- catch ya laterz!

Oddity and EggPlant

I just bought the L'Oreal HIP creme eyeliner in Eggplant and had to try it out. (The review is coming right after this.) I had a bright green shirt on and went for a one color look the other day. Using Glamour Doll Eyes in Oddity all over (the green shade) and Eggplant as my liner.

I pretty much loved it. Eggplant is very dark so it gave me the definition I wanted. I've never used Oddity alone- I always do 2, 3, or 4 color looks. So this was nice. I might be doing more of these. So much easier too!

Either way, I am reviewing this creme eyeliner next- it's worth talking about it. =-) Hope you liked this look.

An Old Bright Look

This is a look I had completely forgotten about. I had not posted it up because I am not crazy about the lashes at all...I was just playing with makeup and was trying out my LASplash Splash Proof Sealer. It makes a huge difference- these colors do not look like that without it.

Problem was, since I was only playing makeup- I used an old mascara that was drying up. Can you tell?? LOL! Anyways- it was very bright. I like it except I can see how I can make it much better so that it could be wearable for me. The blue was Dirty Jeans by Glamour Doll Eyes. The purple was Glam Girl by Glamour Doll Eyes, and I used NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk in my waterline. I do not remember what the highlight was...but it was too frosty for this look. This was definitely very random- see ya till the next blog!
